Brief Background

FenFang Charity was initiated after the devastating earthquake in Sichuan province on May 12th 2008. FenFang helped to coordinate a project where a group of international companies and other donors decided to re-build a school in the earthquake area. The FenFang Charity School Project was launched on September 23rd 2008 and completed on September 29th 2009. It was funded, run and administered by  FenFang. 4,5 million RMB was raised (2,7 MRMB in cash and 1,8 MRMB in material and in-kind donations).

Following the initial success in Sichuan, a nonprofit organization, FenFang Charity was established. The Executive Board of FenFang Charity consists of the same individuals who acted as the backbones of the Sizhuan FenFang School Project. Their initial goal is to educate companies and their decision makers to see not only the positive effects donations can make in the Chinese society, but also the strategic business value of CSR.

The operating idea of FenFang Charity has reached international attention. In late 2010 it received funding from BMW xxx. The operation structure is unique and FFC is able to run with very low administration costs. The daily administration is funded by Catalytic Sponsors such as BMW. Catalytic sponsoring ensures that donations done by project sponsors reach their target fully.

Today FFC employs one Operations Manager whose task is to develop and quality assure projects, manage and oversee company relations and follow up CSR projects on behalf of companies and other donors.
